SPECIAL NOTE - medical or medical/cancellation insurance is the least expensive part of any trip. Most people say they don't need it or they won't get sick. I am a very healthy person but have had two out of country experiences where insurance came to the rescue. The first, a broken leg in the US, cost close to $1000 USD. The second, emergency (unexpected) surgery would have cost $650,000 USD for the first week (in California) and close to $500, 000 USD for the next 5 weeks.
Most people think they are covered by Alberta Health Care. They are not, they are only covered to the limited scale of AHC. Some credit cards or company insurance plans may cover you, however these sometimes have limits or restrictions. If you have another plan please make certain that you are completely covered
If not, we recommend that you talk to a professional travel agent or your insurance broker. We use Snowbird insurance. Rates for the weekend can be as little as $12.
